The Challenge

The winter season is ideal for European short and city breaks. Greece has a rich offer for this type of product and needed to inspire European users to become visitors for this period. Nature, mainland Greece and City Breaks in Athens, Thessaloniki and Santorini were the focus of the communication.

The Strategy

The specific objective of this campaign was to increase awareness of Greece as an ideal destination for a city break during the Winter season.

To achieve this objective, eDreams Odigeo Media Services and Aegean collaborated to develop a destination targeting campaign.

This campaign identified potential highly-targeted customers through a display onsite and off-site advertising strategy. Route targeting provided the ability to serve display ads to travel consumers searching from specific origin cities in the 3 campaign markets to desired Greece cities.


The promotion for Aegean in the French, German and English market within February and March 2022 had outstanding results.

The trips sold to Greece increased on average in the 3 mentioned markets by +1600% compared to previous year and +55% vs pre Campaign period.

The campaign generated a great interest for French, German and English travellers to visit Greece during the low season.
